4 Reasons why finding your tribe is important

Self care, friendships, choose your friends wisely, dallas, blogger

Friends how many of us have them?! Let’s talk real relationships for a moment shall we? I’ve always had a keen sense of energy and how that relates to the people around me however, up until the last few years I never knew how important it was to make sure that energy was the RIGHT kind of energy coming from the RIGHT people. The people in your circle can quite literally make or break your success. I knoooooow crazy right? To think that other people have a part in YOUR success just from being close to you is bananas but it’s true! People that know this have a huge advantage. They understand relationships more and are able to better navigate through the ones that mean them no good without losing to much time or effort. Your inner circle are, in most cases the people closest to you and can either drag you completely down or elevate you. I don’t know about you but I would definitely prefer the latter. Now don’t get me wrong your energy has to match theirs too in order for your circle to actually be a circle and not a crescent. This is why it’s important to find people who are on your level or higher. Everyone is not meant to go where you are going some people are just meant to be in your life for the period in which you are in. Discovering yourself, growing and changing is a natural part of life and your tribe is no different. From my own experiences here are 4 reasons why finding YOUR tribe is critical to your self care journey.

1. N🚫 Judgement Zone.

Learning to love yourself and grow is hard enough and can take you through some pretty rough patches. You’ll need to be able to express yourself and be honest about where you are in your life right now without fear that your friends will use it against you. True friends encourage and uplift you even through hard times and do not judge you for it.

2. True Friendships Add Value to Your Life.

In most cases the opinions of your friends are more important then anybody else’s outside your own, including family members. You need people you can trust to tell you like it is! We all need a little guidance and the opportunity to see outside of ourselves from time to time but you have to make sure that guidance is coming from great sources. Growth means recognizing all of you good AND bad. The best friends help you do that.

3. Happy Friends Make You Happy!

Positive energy charges and rejuvenates while negative energy is simply draining. It makes sense that you should surround yourself with happy people. The more happy friends you surround yourself with the merrier, and according to The Mayo Clinic, good friendships reduce stress and boosts your happiness. Go ahead, pile on those bubbly BFFs already!

4. Friendships can have a positive and inspirational influence over your life.

When you connect with people who are passionate and driven it can help you stay motivated. Genuine friends take care of one another not only on a personal level but I professional level as well. They will push you to be the best you can be while simultaneously being the best they can be. This never ending circle of positive reinforcement inspiring talks and an ear to listen when you need to vent will prove to be just what you needed to keep the ball rolling on your goals.

Finding people that you have genuine connections with not only makes the journey worth it, it makes the ride just a little bit smoother.
